convenient imprisonings

two dreams last night.
in both i am teaching performance in prisons. there are people i know from the street there. people who have been homeless, who have had addictions.
one is beneath some blankets...he has peed and is embarassed. he is sick.

i have built a fort inside of the prison. we are practicing speaking in rhythms over one another. poetry that we have written and broken down and then recontextualized and montaged.

each day i leave and then come back again.
when i return, we continue. i realize people may steal from me, but it is a practice in paying attention. when to notice.
two people are jumping rope. they have taken a kerchief that they believe holds money, but it is only paper. it is a game we play.

i wake up thinking about the present state of these people who i know and wonder about their future...and thinking about the convenience of containment, these games we play.
